Dubbed the well-known American nutritional expert guru, Dr. Robert Atkins is also a prominent cardiologist for his weight-loss program technique, which entails consuming low carbohydrates and foods high in fat and protein.

Atkins finished his schooling at the University of Michigan, and later at Cornell Medical College, he received his medical degree. He then specialized in cardiology with a research study on organic solutions not just limited to curing acne, cancer, carpal tunnel syndrome, and depression.

It was here that he came to recognize he had acquired a lot of pounds considering the days before his medical school. After failing to lose some pounds and experimenting on manywithlans, he decided to try a regulated carb diet which he read in the Journal of American Medical Association.

In 2002, he was hospitalized after struggling with a cardiac arrest, where he released a statement that it is “in no other way related to diet plan.” A year later, it was reported that he slipped on an icy sidewalk outside his workplace in New York, where he sustained significant injuries to the head that positioned him in a comatose state.

Dr. Keith Berkowitz hurried him to the New York City Weill Cornell Medical Center, where surgeons removed a blood clot to eliminate pressure in his brain. Richard Rothstein, Atkins’ spokesperson, told CNN they “expect a miracle, but the chances for a meaningful healing are slim.”

Nine days before the tragic mishap, he died of kidney failure. The New York City Medical Inspector’s Office offered Atkins’ medical records to the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medication. It was mentioned there that at the time of his death, his weight was approximately 260 pounds, indicating that he was overweight.

It was a total paradox from a “diet plan expert” that the information was spread to the media in the future. Much to the distress of his household, it was declared that he just weighed 195 pounds upon admission to the healthcare facility. It was discussed that fluid retention might have caused an apparent increase of weight following the drastic loss of his major organs.

In 2015, the company Atkins, established in 1989, filed for insolvency protection in New york city. They reasoned that they had been polluted over the last few years by the fading fame of the diet plan program and other plans that also embraced a high-protein carb weight loss.

In January 2006, they emerged from bankruptcy with a twist in their service method. They reduced the focus of low- a carbohydrate diet and focused much on selling nutritional products such as chocolate bars and fruity shakes.

Even with all the critics of his nutrition program, it has been appreciated by numerous individuals, specifically Hollywood celebrities.

The New York City Medical Examiner’s Office gave Atkins’ medical records to the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medication. It was specified there that at the time of his death, his weight was approximately 260 pounds, suggesting he was obese.

It was a total irony from a “diet plan professional,” where later on, the info was spread out to the media. It was explained that fluid retention might have brought an evident boost of weight following the drastic loss of his major organs.
