Because search engines were developed, there has actually been a consistent head to head in between the search engine algorithm writers and web designers. Whenever the algorithms changed the web designers attempted to outsmart them.

The internet is complete if clashing SEO suggestions on how to achieve top rankings. This short article hopes to clean up some of the confusion.

In the starting it sufficed to have an adequate quantity of keywords on your website in order to rank extremely in the search engines.

This led to keyword spamming, a practice which still continues today amongst unskilled web designers.

Along came Google and the goal posts shifted. Google put more focus on website connecting, Their thought was simple – if one site had a link to another website, then it was as if the very first website was positioning a vote of self-confidence for the 2nd site’s content and therefore the 2nd site must be useful and relevant to the readers of the very first website.

Therefore the Google Page Rank was invented.

Quickly the web designers and internet marketers got to work. This saw the introduction of link forms and reciprocal linking websites. Web online marketers declared that the more links that appeared on your site, the greater it would rank in Google.

Unexpectedly link pages from sites started to face multiple pages as the race was on to exchange links with whoever would concur.

Some websites started to have thousands of links point to their websites and began rising in the online search engine rankings.

Obviously the game of feline and mouse with Google continued as the online search engine giant once again changed its algorithms.

It is now widely accepted that previous linking strategies are stopping working because of what Google now expects from links.

SIGNIFICANCE

Google anticipates links on a site to be pertinent to the readers of the initial site.

ONE WAY LINKS

Google offers a much greater concern to one-way links without a mutual link in return.

ANCHOR TEXT

It is better for the anchor text (the real text that contains the link) to be keyword pertinent to the content and also to differ as many instances of the very same anchor text without variance can be interpreted as keyword spamming.

The importance put on the above aspects has all but removed the effectiveness of previous connecting strategies.

A lot of links on link page directory sites were exchanged with any site who would reciprocate. Many of these sites were not pertinent to the initial website.

The mutual linking technique also negates the one-way connecting chosen by Google. A lot of link directory sites include the same anchor text in all links, as this anchor text was advertised on the “link to us” page.

Google now looks upon these reciprocal link directory sites as having no worth. They do not distribute page rank and therefore do not assist the ranking of your website.

That is why I now explain article writing as the brand-new SEO Master Tool – please see Part II of this post for the reasoning.
