The first weekend in April awakens a familiar animal in the Uwharrie National Park.

The ATV offroad enthusiast has been hibernating for the winter, yet not asleep. He has been giving attention to his 4X4, quad, motorcycle, and other offroad toys, preparing them for this awakening.

They show up from all over the Southeast, flooding the local corner store for gas, munchies, and other offroad requirements.

The local camping areas are reserved months in advance, as are the local motels.
The Uwharrie National park boasts 16 overall miles of ATV trails, the sum of 8 smaller-sized, interconnected ATV challenge courses.

These routes range from under 1 mile to more than 3 miles, with the majority available to ANY offroad type lorries. Helmets must endure all on trails, which the NC Wildlife Firm keeps track of.

Uwharrie National Forest is located 60 miles East of Charlotte, NC, off Highway 24-27, and boasts camping areas, primitive camping, and equestrian tracks and facilities, in addition to the OHV trail system.

Costs are $5.00 per day/per automobile, and season passes are offered for $30.00.
If you’re trying to find a beautiful spot to invest a vacation, and aren’t afraid of some offroad mud, join us in Uwharrie for some real offroad adventures!
