Lighting is an essential active ingredient for wedding event photography.

Unlike many other areas of professional photography, weddings need all kinds of lighting, all on the same day, such as window light, outside lighting, bounce lighting, and multiple electronic lighting. Each type of light has its downsides but offers opportunities for innovative work.

To value fine lighting, study the works of the master painters. Notification of how the artists were acutely aware of lighting and light instructions; shadows fall as they would in a naturally lit scene.

This type of lighting is evident and uninviting.
The two broad classifications of lighting gone over below are existing light and electronic flash. Existing light consists of natural and light sources, such as lamps or chandeliers. Electronic flash or strobe lighting includes single and multiple lighting setups, umbrellas, and bounced lighting.

Because of the excellent color variation between a bride’s white dress and a groom’s black tuxedo, electronic cameras with built-in light meters will not be enough and are hardly ever used in wedding photography. There are two types of direct exposure meters readily available: those that procedure event light and those that step reflected light. An incident-light meter determines how much light falls onto a white dome that gathers the light.

The reflected-light meter measures the intensity of light coming off the topic. Crucial users of light meters tend to prefer this type. The meter is pointed toward the case from the cam position or in the line from the video camera toward the subject.

Place the subject close to the window and look towards it to picture with the window light. Direct sunshine produces harsh shadows and highly contrasting highlights and shadow locations, and unless some fill light is utilized, the shadow side of the face will have insufficient lighting.

Luckily, more scattered shaded light usually is available.
