Alzheimer’s is a touchy subject for me to compose about. You may ask, why is that? Granny had the disease, and we knew absolutely nothing of the kind. We thought she was getting old. We didn’t understand anything about this disease; if we did, we would likely say it would not occur.
Well, it did happen, and there wasn’t anything we could do as a household aside from seeing it take over my granny’s life the way it did.
A grandmother isn’t here now, considering the disease declared her life. She didn’t pass away from this mind-robbing illness. It killed her brain and left her not knowing anything or feeling pain.
I went through all the stages of Alzheimer‘s with my grandma and not knowing and understanding this illness. It made things more difficult for us to handle, so I want to inform you how Alzheimer’s robs your soul.
Alzheimer’s impacted me once again. My grandparents had a pal that had Alzheimer’s, and we would have to go to Indiana and get him because he lost his method.
Again, it would not happen to us, we believed, until it took place. In the first stage of Alzheimer’s, they forget things like names, and the person often has problems doing daily jobs.
Alzheimer’s disease will affect the mind, triggering the individual to forget as dementia establishes. For instance, one day, I went to grannies, and she was crying.
I asked her why she was crying, and she stated the bank had called, informing her she had written some bad checks.
I asked her why, and she stated your grandpa offered me the money. She couldn’t remember what had occurred to the funds.
Relatives will help work out scenarios, yet it was far too late in this circumstance, considering that we needed more knowledge. The cash was never recuperated. Did she even get money, or was it the disease deceiving her?
Grandmother would always forget small things like our names and call us another person. The action is standard for those with Alzheimer’s disease. Something that a person would do every day ended up being more complex. Again, we believed she was getting old.
What woke us up was when grandmother would go for her weekend drive to see everybody and come home at dark.
We still needed to learn where she went. We believed it was best if we took her motorist license. We thought it was going to help her.
We didn’t understand we were hurting her. We let her have them back, and my grandfather removed the car. He informed her it was junk, which was much better for everyone then. Phase 2 of Alzheimer’s disease came where granny got depressed.
She didn’t want to go anywhere. She loved going to town; however, not now. All she wished to do is stay home and sleep daily.
Chores ended up being more complex and more challenging for her to do. So now, at this point, we had to do something. We could not take care of her any longer, so we put her in an assisted living home where she could always care for her. And this is where the stage came in, and grandma was headed out of her mind.
Grandma was robbed of seeing her grandchildren grow up. Her body was healthy, but her mind was taken by this awful illness called Alzheimer’s.
I hope that you don’t know anyone that has this disease.
It is unfortunate to see what it does to a mind, so find out more now to take action later.
Alzheimer’s impacted me again. My grandparents had a buddy with Alzheimer’s, and we would have to go to Indiana and get him since he lost his method.
